The good shepherd will leave the ninety and nine behind and go after the one...that is lost.

Waiting for Release

Where once we lived and breathed in sight
and walked with staff and rod
We now corrupt do lay about
and curse the thought of God

We say that we're not made of dust
but come from acids formed in sea
We say that random incidents
created what is you and me

No other sphere has temperament
No other earth has proved to be
sustaining life in all its forms
Held in bounds of gravity

No other sky is seen so blue
No other pasture ere so green
No other winds did blow so true
No other world has ever seen

The rise and fall of man's own kind
for generations blood and toil
So cursed to not be by His side
and forced to work the very soil

The countless wars and famine sent
to make the noble humbled still
With dust on forehead, fabric rent
the suffering to break our will

But man has ever worshiped gods
whose very hands created
Denying His authority
in thirst and never sated

And yet a remnant still remains
since we were given holy law
To know what sin and error be,
correcting what had been our flaws

And so you may believe that we
are simply random acts of chance
With no divine authority
to ever give a backwards glance

With breath and life you contemplate
the worth of those yet forming
Without pretension demonstrate
and speak of global warming

To think that you could somehow change
the universe you're riding
As if it were a mere construct
of something man's designing

Arrogance is yet unchained
and so we suffer still
The blood still runs from Calvary
to cover those who's will...

Bow in all humility
to know that they aren't God
And worship He who's very path
we are not fit to trod

That remnant will for ere' remain
as we teach our seed
And will forever look to sky
for His return with speed

Do you answer to the Truth?

There is no greater twentieth century disciple than Oswald Chambers. I don't usually place other people's work on this site, but if you don't daily read Oswald, then you should by all means make it a habit. He is second only to Paul in the rightly discerning of the Gospel of the Christ.

Read and enjoy:

Oswald Chambers:

When God gives a vision by His Spirit through His word of what He wants, and your mind and soul thrill to it, if you do not walk in the light of that vision, you will sink into servitude to a point of view which Our Lord never had. Disobedience in mind to the heavenly vision will make you a slave to points of view that are alien to Jesus Christ. Do not look at someone else and say - Well, if he can have those views and prosper, why cannot I? You have to walk in the light of the vision that has been given to you and not compare yourself with others or judge them, that is between them and God. When you find that a point of view in which you have been delighting clashes with the heavenly vision and you debate, certain things will begin to develop in you - a sense of property and a sense of personal right, things of which Jesus Christ made nothing. He was always against these things as being the root of everything alien to Himself. "A man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things that he possesseth." If we do not recognize this, it is because we are ignoring the undercurrent of Our Lord's teaching.

We are apt to lie back and bask in the memory of the wonderful experience we have had. If there is one standard in the New Testament revealed by the light of God and you do not come up to it, and do not feel inclined to come up to it, that is the beginning of backsliding, because it means your conscience does not answer to the truth. You can never be the same after the unveiling of a truth. That moment marks you for going on as a more true disciple of Jesus Christ or for going back as a deserter.

What Child is this?

I do not know, what Child is this?
Who introduced in humblest way
Born to die, betrayed with kiss
King of kings, the angels say.

Spirit turned to flesh and bone,
Heaven's Kingdom come to earth.
Left behind immortal throne
So His Spirit, could in us birth.

I do not know how to receive
His Words so new, that contradict.
All that I had once believed
His Truth, my will, they both conflict.

When learning of this Man of Words
When reading all His earthly Deeds.
They say it happened long ago
But still the World upon it feeds.

I do not know what Child is this
Who brings salvation to the ones...
That leave themselves behind and reach
For the saint they could become.

I do not know what day was born
In that town, the House of Bread.
Praise God above in Him I live
The man I was, forever dead.

We do not know what day or week
He came through humble virgin birth
We only know He praised the meek
Who will inherit all the earth.

Because I know this little boy,
Who changed the world in Galilee.
With hands to heaven raised in joy
I thank God He's born in me!

Baruch Hashem!

That child's in me.

And so my wish for you this day
Is for this child who changed the world
To reach inside your heart and stay
His banner raised, your flag unfurled.

With Love,

Micha El
